Yes, we have developed proprietary algorithms that allow us to generate repetition-free patterns which are always unique. This means that each panel we produce is one-of-a-kind.
The uneven relief of the surface of the wall panel helps to diffuse the incoming sound, creating a more pleasant sound pattern in the room. It also reduces flutter echoes between parallel walls. However, it's important to note that a single wall panel alone cannot solve a sound problem in a room. It can be thought of as similar to a piece of upholstered furniture or a shelf, which can improve the overall acoustics of the room when used in conjunction with other measures.

The perforated Formfeld1 wall panel is an effective sound absorber in the lower range of human vocal frequencies, between 250 Hz and 500 Hz. In this frequency range, it has an alpha value of approximately 0.6, which means that it absorbs 60% of the incident sound energy. The micro-perforated version of the panel has an even higher absorption rate of up to 90% in this sector.

Yes, samples in 20 x 20 cm format can be ordered directly via the website for a nominal fee. We will gladly refund this fee if the samples are returned. We are happy to provide free loan samples for customer projects.
If you're located in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland, you can visit our office in Munich or one of our partner locations to see the exhibition panels and samples on display. To find the nearest partner location, please contact us or the partner directly. We also offer hand samples for a small fee, which can be shipped to you upon request.

A small panel measuring 120 x 83 cm weighs between 13 kg and 19 kg, depending on the material. A large panel measuring 173 x 120 cm weighs between 26 kg and 41 kg.
We would be happy to provide the exact weight for your chosen configuration upon request.
Yes, you can rotate the panels made of wood and MDF to any of the four orientations. Panels made of volcanic sandstone can be mounted in either the standard orientation or rotated 180 degrees.
Yes, and we would be happy to offer a suitable substructure upon request.
Yes, in this case we carefully design the structure of the panels to ensure that the pattern flows smoothly from one panel to the next. In our catalog, you can see examples of different panel size combinations on page 44.

Formfeld panels are suitable for indoor use only. If possible, refrain from placing them directly above a heater or near a frequently opened window.
Favorable climatic conditions can help preserve the material and prevent significant changes over the years. To achieve this, it is recommended to maintain a constant relative humidity of 45% to 55% and a room temperature of 18° to 23°C. Exposure to sunlight and intense artificial light can alter the color of wood panels, causing oak and maple to darken slightly. In contrast, panels made of volcanic sandstone, Black Raw MDF, and Black Satinized MDF are not affected by changes in lighting conditions and retain their original color.
No, not at this time. All wall panels are custom-made upon order.
All standard and special formats can be perforated. Micro-perforations are currently only available for small (120 x 83 cm) and medium (144 x 100 cm) standard formats, as well as for special formats with a width of up to one meter. The length can be any size. Panels made of volcanic sandstone cannot be micro-perforated. For more information on construction and acoustic performance, see:

The structure Formfeld 1 is characterized by a swarm-like flow of round-shaped valleys. Surfaces of the same structure are similar but not identical, with the individual appearance created by the unique flow of the structure. This makes each Formfeld panel unique. Formfeld 1 is currently the only structure available for purchase at fixed prices. Formfeld 2 to 5 were developed as part of projects and can be used in original or modified form for wall panels and projects upon request.

Wall panels made of solid wood can be made in one piece up to a length of 3 meters and a width of 1.7 meters. For panels made of volcanic sandstone and black MDF, the maximum length is 2.4 meters and the maximum width is 1.2 meters. Larger surfaces can be divided into individual segments with a continuous structure. In addition to rectangular surfaces, special formats and wall-filling structures with cutouts, free-form outer contours, and over-the-corner configurations are possible.
In general, the price per area for permanently installed wall-claddings is lower than for individual panels. This is because the rear circumferential frame can be omitted. In addition, the effort required for planning, organization and production can be distributed over a larger area. The price also depends on factors such as the desired or existing substructure, possible cutouts, and the perimeter shape. We would be happy to create a customized offer for your project.
The production of a Formfeld1 panel typically takes six to nine weeks from the time of order. If you choose a micro-perforated variant, please note that it may take an additional two weeks to manufacture.
